FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of the questions we get asked most through the year:

WHAT ARE THE WEEKLY SESSIONS LIKE?

Most sessions are fairly simple in structure: we arrive, set up the range, shoot for the designated time slot, pack down the range and leave! You can shoot either for the enjoyment of it or you can shoot a scoring round.

Yes! We have a range of competitions for our archers to attend. We are a part of BUTTS league, BUCS and frequently have friendly competitions with University of Nottingham.

We highly encourage members to take part in these but it is completely optional if you would rather shoot for fun!

ARE THERE OPPORTUNITIES TO COMPETE?

DO I NEED TO HAVE TRIED ARCHERY BEFORE?

Not at all! A lot of our members come and shoot for the first time at university and progress from there.

IS THERE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR COACHING?

While most of our sessions are free-shooting, we have a coach who attends 1 session a week. If you are interested in this, speak to one of the committee members. If that isn't something that you want to do, then the experienced archers are always happy to give some advice on your technique.

DO I NEED TO HAVE MY OWN EQUIPMENT?

If you have your own equipment - great! If not, it's not a problem at all. The club has its own bows, arrows, and all of the other equipment that you may need. We do recommend that, after a while, you bring/buy your own in order to maximise your shooting time and so that you can progress faster.

HOW DO I JOIN?

If you would like to join us, all you have to do is send us a message through instagram, the contact us section, or come to one of our sessions and talk to one of our committee members. They will tell you about membership fees and further costs.
